To you, our SCI fans, volunteers and followers, who have been waiting patiently by your computer screens for years now for new content to show up on the SCI website, sorry. We’re still here—we’ve just been a bit busy. Between 2012 and 2015 we posted a lot—partly because one of our most active projects was to run a portal for science communication news. But we stopped this effort in 2015 (see the SCI news project description in this website) and also started up a new project—the Open Scholarship Intiative (OSI)—which has since demanded all of our time, money and attention. This is both a good thing and a bad thing—good for OSI, bad for all the other projects that have languished on SCI’s plate as a result.
So, sorry for the silence, and thank you for your patience. With any luck we’ll be able to get more money and bandwidth soon so we can walk and chew gum at the same time and manage OSI plus SCI work. Until then, please do stay tuned to OSI’s work—it’s exciting stuff, poised to make a real impact.
Sincerely,
Glenn Hampson
